“Décevant (pour nous)”
The accommodation (kitchenware, bathroom, linens) was clean and well‑heated, the setting (pine forest and garrigue) was very pleasant and close to the tram that takes you to Montpellier city centre. The host we communicated with by text was available, responsive, and kind. What disappointed us: the welcome from three friendly dogs, one of whom licked our luggage while crossing the courtyard and left some droppings on the path that were picked up the next day; the humidity caused paint flakes to peel in the kitchen and a bit of mildew, likely due to the need to breathe old stone walls that were painted. Subjectively, the bedding made us sleep poorly on the sofa; the lack of privacy was an issue: the place only has blackout curtains with French doors opening onto the main courtyard and a passage, so we had only two options—close the curtains and live in artificial light or leave them open and be exposed to passersby. Extra drapes would have helped.
