The location is excellent, yet the rooms were being renovated with a dusty carpet and 20‑year‑old shower valves, the lake‑side windows hadn’t been cleaned since the hotel opened, and the restaurant’s furniture is from the early 1900s and needs a full overhaul.

The hotel’s name no longer matches its condition; many parts are broken and never repaired. It feels like a place that might close down, with sticky tables in the dining room and dirty salt dishes on the tables.

The spa hotel seems aimed mainly at locals, as we saw almost no tourists; it’s pleasant but it appears they don’t know how to cater to English‑speaking travelers. We found it perfect for a relaxed vacation, with a kids’ playroom and a child‑friendly pool, though there were no special activities for children, so it may not suit family tourists. The location is excellent—close to the sea, plenty of paid parking, near supermarkets, and a 25‑minute leisurely walk to the old town and back to the beach, which took an entire morning and was very enjoyable. Breakfast was good but relatively simple. The spa offered many showers and saunas; maintenance was uneven, with some new and some old saunas showing wear. We booked a family suite with a balcony, and the room was large and comfortable, with a pleasant balcony. The furnishings are very old, but if that’s not a problem, it’s still comfortable. Internet was great, and we could watch TV on the computer and work. Cleanliness was an issue; the hotel is old, so achieving high cleanliness is hard. The bathrooms weren’t 100% clean, the balcony wasn’t cleaned, and overall they mainly change linens and towels and take out trash instead of a full clean. The furniture—sofa, table, chairs—are from the ’80s and show wear; they really need replacement. The bed was new and fine. The TV was poor; the screen was small relative to the room and distance, and it wasn’t a smart TV, which is now common. The reception staff were a bit grumpy at the desk, perhaps because they’re not used to foreign tourists.

Everything about the hotel appeals to us—we probably visit about fifteen times.
