“welcoming family homestay”

If you want to experience Philippine hospitality, do a homestay. Our host Rose and her family were friendly, well informed, and very attentive, helping with tours, transportation, and information. Breakfast was included with eggs and ham or rice on toast and coffee. It was a warm and welcoming environment. Highly recommend. The only downside was the lack of TV, but that was due to large storms – it was okay. Bring your own toiletries, soap, and shampoo.

“It was what you paid for. Don’t expect much with breakfast since its not a 5-star hotel. They provided decent breakfast.”

We liked the staff, especially Rose who was very accommodating with every request. There were a lot of mosquitoes inside and outside the room; although they provided a katol, it didn’t help much. Mosquitoes were also plentiful around Coron itself, so it’s not just this place.

“Much, much better than I expected considering the cost.”

It turned out much better than I expected for the price. Rose arranged a scooter for us. When we mentioned that the meals we had at Coron restaurants were expensive by Filipino standards and of poor quality, Rose offered to cook dinner for us; it was the best meal we had in Coron by far. Getting a tricycle into town was easy (P50). The room was excellent. We noted that the bathroom floor was slippery when wet, and Rose immediately supplied a bathroom mat. She was always available to help. I was perfectly happy.
