The Kempinski Hotel Fuzhou is situated in the East Second Ring Thaihot Plaza, a 23-floor modern building in Fuzhou. This hotel offers convenient access to high-end offices, shopping malls, and entertainment spots. It's a 10-minute drive to Fuzhou North Railway Station and 1 hour to Fuzhou Changle International Airport. The hotel features 327 elegant rooms and suites with tea sets, coffee machines, and some with seating areas.

We always enjoy staying at the Kempinski; the staff are friendly and helpful, the location is ideal, and there are plenty of local restaurants and street food nearby. We love it, though the breakfast menu could use some fresh ideas.

It falls short of true five‑star standards and needs many improvements. I’ve stayed in many hotels across the country and, frankly, this one is worse than some business hotels; for example, a cup of tea in the room cost $88 without any clear sign, bottled water was $16, and washing a T‑shirt was $50 despite most places offering free self‑service laundry. After a week here I felt I paid five‑star rates for a three‑star experience and hope they conduct a self‑audit.

The location is good with plenty of nearby food options. The gym is large, well‑equipped, and well‑maintained, and it’s one of the best hotel gyms I’ve been to. The indoor pool looked nice, but I didn’t have time to use it. I’d like to see some improvements: I couldn’t get connecting rooms even after requesting them, the birthday surprise for a family member was not arranged, and when I asked for an extra bed (at a cost) the staff brought a flimsy “divider” that we rejected (and we weren’t charged). Though the gym is open 24 hours, the AC was off at night, and the lights outside the gym and in the lift lobby were switched off, so we had to use our phones to find the lifts. The buffet breakfast was also pricey.
