The room still needed cleaning and the welcome could use a rethink.

I stayed almost a week in a room with a private bathroom and balcony. I must praise the cleanliness, the order, and the reliable Wi‑Fi. My favorite part was the location: it’s near a lively park where you can enjoy great street food, and there are restaurants about 10 minutes on foot, though I didn’t try them. As soon as you step outside, you feel Bari’s youthful energy and chaotic streets. Inside the accommodation the atmosphere is calm and pleasant. I was there at the end of summer when it was hot outside, so I appreciated that the place had air conditioning; even without using it, the room stayed very comfortable. I wanted to arrive by bus, but that was a mistake. It’s nice to walk most of the way from Bari Vecchia or the central station, but if you’re carrying backpacks you prefer buses that should stop within 100 m. During the first two days the buses detoured, and traffic was a jungle to cross the street! I hope the street works finish soon so buses stop detouring and the place becomes easier to reach. It was very uncomfortable because I planned to arrive at dusk, but with a delayed flight and buses not stopping at the official stops, I got there at night, almost two hours late. Francesco handed me the keys and instructions kindly, even though I was after the official check‑in time. I’d recommend a taxi if you’re tight on time. Another thing that didn’t win me over, but I see it’s common in Italy, is the sparse breakfast. The B&B offered only a few sweets with coffee or tea. That’s easy to fix: there are supermarkets nearby and plenty of fridge space.

Very clean and the host was friendly, but the promised breakfast was awful—just a couple of packed cakes and nothing else.
