I stumbled upon this farmhouse turned alternative lodging, and it surprised me with its charm. With just a handful of rooms, the place is simple yet cozy, and the owner Monika, along with her son Peter, creates a warm, inviting vibe in the backyard. They served a delicious vegetable soup for dinner and homemade Bircher muesli for breakfast, even offering a vegan option. The lake is close, and there are lovely woodland walks nearby. If you’re after five‑star luxury or private bathrooms (the guests share two), this isn’t it, but for a heartfelt Swiss countryside experience it’s stunning.

Found this place to be a quirky little spot full of creative touches and plenty of ways to unwind. The hosts were warm and super helpful, and the on‑site sauna, infrared sauna, and jacuzzi were a nice bonus. Nestled in the middle of a golf course, it’s a great spot for cyclists – the Sempachersee is a short ride away. The only downside was the street noise that seeped in when the window was open, but it didn’t ruin the stay.
