The staff are so friendly, and the owner, who speaks English, even offered to get up at 5:30 am to drop me and another backpacker off at the train station for our trip to Kamikochi. The location is a bit off the beaten path, but that’s not a big deal.

The view from the living room is nice, the facilities are clean, there’s a shuttle from the nearby station, and there’s a self‑serve drink service. I can’t think of any negatives. It would be more convenient if there were a supermarket or convenience store nearby, but buying in advance should be fine.

It was clean and comfortable. I was very happy to stay cheaply and comfortably over the long weekend. No particular issues, but if I had to mention one, it’s that the kettle was a bit difficult to get hot water from.

The shuttle from Hokkaido Station was a huge help, and I’d definitely use the service again.

The place was spotlessly clean and the host was incredibly friendly, speaking fluent English and even picking us up from the station late at night; his wife also dropped us off in the morning. Both of them were fantastic. The dining area had everything you could need, and you could cook or heat food if you wanted. There was nothing to criticize.
