“Luft nach oben, wegen der Lage aber empfehlenswert”
The hotel sits right in the middle of the harbor, and we loved the view because there’s always something happening. Everything is within walking distance. The pool is large, nice, and very clean. For me the water was too cold, but overall the courtyard with the pool is a lovely place to relax, read, or refresh. They put a lot of care into it and you can see that. Breakfast is plentiful but not of great quality; it’s enough to fill you up. The coffee was good, there was fresh fruit and water, and the tables were nicely set and clean. The rooms are small and quite old, but they’re freshly painted and everything you need is there, including a mini fridge. Despite some negatives, the location and our room with a view over the street action were reasons to return. Compared to many other (often poor) hotels in Riccione, you can still recommend the Milano Helvetia. The staff is usually impersonal, but they’re helpful when you need something. The shower is tiny. I (short and slim) already had trouble fitting in and washing there. The elbows are hit on the left and right while washing hair. The mattresses are a disaster: hard, lumpy, worn out. The beds feel like army barracks. Breakfast quality could be greatly improved if the “hot” dishes were served hot. The 20 varieties of cheap cakes are unnecessary; just five from a baker would be better and tasty. The view over the harbor is beautiful, but it’s also very busy. From 6 am the noise starts and often doesn’t stop until after midnight. Especially the clattering mopeds and the poseurs with their high‑powered carts doing show rounds make it louder than it already is. So you shouldn’t look for silence there. :) The door shuts tightly and you can dampen the noise well. The parking is quite far, unguarded, and also expensive. But that’s a general Riccione problem and almost every hotel is like that.
