“Finger weg! Kein Luxus, keine Privatsphäre oder Ruhe! Es ist schmutzig und unhygienisch!”
Nothing notable at all. I had a different idea in mind; while the online photos match the furnishings, the reality is far from what was promised—dirty, disgusting, and far from luxurious. The first thing you notice upon arrival is a broken fountain, and the floor in the cottage is filthy. You don’t feel welcome, there are no small touches like a drink or a snack to greet you, and you’re asked to re‑enter your details even though they’re already on file. They say the key is hidden, but it’s just in a box next to the door. The main issue is that the cottage is so filthy we’re constantly disgusted and relieved whenever we’re not there. The grime hasn’t been cleaned in months, not just a week, and it’s so dusty that my husband, who has a dust allergy, had to take antihistamines (under cabinets, the bed, the blinds). Everywhere are cobwebs, dead flies, and moths. The fridge and kitchen cabinets are dirty, the kettle is so limescale‑covered it’s itchy, the terrace cushions are broken and full of cat hair—unacceptable for anyone with allergies. The hot‑tub water wasn’t changed or cleaned; the dirt and dead animals from previous guests float in it, it smells rotten, and the seat screws are rusted. When we asked if the hot‑tub could be cleaned, we were ignored for hours, and on the first of only two evenings it was already unusable, which is outrageous when you book cottages for that reason. The only “solution” offered was to change the water ourselves in the middle of the night.
