The room was very comfortable.

The house is split into three en‑suite rooms with a shared large kitchen, dining area, and lounge. We stayed in the loft rooms, which were spacious, comfy, and clean. Sean, the owner, was very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. The location is a 15‑minute walk to the centre, where pubs, shops, and restaurants are found. I would definitely recommend it.

The host was friendly, the house was clean and pretty. I never asked for or expected air conditioning; the windows were enough to cool the room. I mentioned the A/C only because it was listed as an amenity, but the room didn’t have it. The host’s reply confirms that. I find the comments about “this being Ireland” and comparisons to “Summer in Spain” patronising and irrelevant; my nationality has nothing to do with whether an advertised amenity exists. Regarding the mattress and duvet, I understand comfort is subjective, but my wife and I slept very poorly; the mattress sagged badly and the duvet was too warm for a room around 20 °C. Other guests may have found them comfortable, but that doesn’t negate our experience. My original review also noted the positives: the host was friendly, the property was clean, and the house was nice. Unfortunately, the two most basic things we expect from an overnight stay—sleeping well and showering comfortably—were precisely where the accommodation failed. The sarcastic opening of the response (“I particularly enjoyed the dramatic tone”) is unnecessary. I wrote the review to describe our experience and give future guests useful information, not to create drama. When I book a stay like this, I normally do it for two reasons: to shower and to sleep. At most, I want a place to eat breakfast or dinner. Overall the house meets that, except for sleeping. Sean and James have great taste in décor, but zero empathy for the visitor; the mattresses are deplorable and old, they sink, and both my wife and I couldn’t sleep, waking up with back pain (I didn’t even know what that was). The bedding is old and worn. Then they put a deep winter duvet on us when it’s 20 °C!!! Hello? Too hot, and of course they advertise a room with AC, spoiler: it doesn’t have it. This has been the worst experience in any accommodation I’ve ever had.

The instructions were clear, the bed was comfortable, there was plenty of space, and the breakfast facilities were wonderful.

Everything was perfect. The accommodation had all the comfort needed to feel at home. Nothing.
