The host was super friendly and always available, the house is great and full of history, the pool is excellent, and we’ll probably come back.

We really enjoyed this house, a true trip back in time with period furniture and authentic Portuguese charm, a very quiet and relaxing spot with a pool right next to the city center.

An ancient, historic estate right in the city center with original furnishings and equipment, living almost like in a home museum, yet the bathrooms are modern; the private pool is flawless and the parking on the grounds is fenced, short walks to the Douro valley and even on foot to a well-stocked supermarket, and for guests who don’t love the museum feel, there are also modern, well-integrated buildings on the property; the estate is one of the oldest in the city and has been family-owned for generations.
