The beds were comfortable and the toiletries were good, and it was quiet. But the pillows were lumpy, the fridge was totally iced up and leaked overnight, there was no space around the washbasin or a towel rail, and the breakfast was very poor. The waffle machines were out when we arrived Tuesday evening and were still not there on Wednesday morning, even though we were told that waffles were only available on weekends.

I was worried the place would be noisy at night, but I actually slept okay. The front desk clerk checked me in quickly and efficiently. The rooms were pretty clean and seemed to have been renovated. The whole place was rundown and gross: the exterior landscaping wasn’t maintained, the grass was overgrown, and the exterior doors were always unlocked. The light didn’t work in the bathroom, the floors were warped and damaged, and the clientele was shady, with groups of people hanging outside the doors smoking. The couple across the hall was arguing, kids were running down the halls, and Taco Bell down the street had some sort of incident with several police cars. Overall, it was a dump in a dumpy area of town.

The staff were courteous and helpful, the breakfast was good, and my room was clean and felt newly renovated.
