The hotel is close to the Vatican and tourist spots, the area is calm, and the place is clean. However, it doesn’t feel like a hotel, the front desk isn’t always staffed, the bathroom door in room 9 jams and can lock you inside, the door shows signs of others struggling to exit, the shower knob needs repair, the TV only shows Italian channels, there’s no official luggage storage, staff changed and I was asked repeatedly whether I had paid, and the view from the back window was bleak. I know it all sounds negative but the stay was ok.

The room was clean and tidy, the location is very good, and breakfast at the bakery across the street was delicious.

The sink in the bathroom is clogged, the entrance area looks very sad, and the minibar only offers still water.
