The location works well, the rooms stay quiet and tidy, and the temperature control is reliable. Breakfast was just average, and the pillow material felt scratchy. The cost didn’t match the value, especially since there’s a motel across the street offering the same quality for less.

I booked three rooms: two king rooms and one standard room with two queen beds. At check‑in I was told all rooms were king beds, and the staff insisted that a “standard” room is actually a king bed room. After confirming my reservation, they claimed the hotel was full and could do nothing. The service was terrible, the sinks didn’t drain, one room’s AC was broken, and the sheets were threadbare. The property isn’t well maintained.

Breakfast was average, maybe a touch above average with rotating meals, but each day’s variety was pretty limited—one day biscuits and gravy, another day pre‑cooked omelets, sometimes bacon, sometimes sausage. The internet in the room was just okay; speed was limited but still acceptable (for example, when fast‑forwarding a video, there’s a long pause before it resumes). The room itself was clean and comfortable. Coffee was available downstairs almost 24/7, except when it was being cleaned. The room didn’t have a coffee machine or hot water, but it did have a small refrigerator. Everything else was fine; if you’re on a budget, you’ll definitely get your money’s worth. There’s not much to complain about—just a couple of wobbly tables at breakfast, but overall we were satisfied.

Great breakfast with a good variety and plenty of healthy options. PLUS, due to severe storms in Indiana, the hotel lost power for several hours. The staff couldn’t fix the electrical issue, but every member did a yeoman’s job under the circumstances to help my wife and me have a very comfortable stay at the Schererville Holiday Inn. I’ll likely be in Schererville soon and will definitely stay at the Schererville Holiday Inn again. No problems, no issues whatsoever.
