This place was a total letdown. The location was okay, I guess, but that's about it. The room was tiny and the bed was uncomfortable.
The food is also amazing – I was blown away by the quality and taste.
The staff here are absolute gems – friendly, helpful, and genuinely welcoming.
This place has a fantastic location, right on the canal, and the cleanliness of the rooms is spot on.

“Clean comfortable quiet room”
The room was clean, comfortable, and quiet; I enjoyed dinner at the pub and drinks in the beer garden, breakfast was very good, but the small pillows were lumpy and should be replaced, and the price was quite high.

The room was very comfortable and had everything we needed. Dinner was excellent and breakfast was very good, though a bit more options would have been nice.
The location is great and quiet, the room is spacious, and being close to the canal let us enjoy a walk along the river. The hot summer made it a bit uncomfortable.

We love staying with the innkeepers and this time the canal right next door was a bonus. The restaurant/bar and rooms were solid, but Sunday was very busy and the car park was full.

I’ve stayed at the Cheshire Cat many times and I keep coming back for the food, the beer selection, and the rooms, which are always very comfortable and exceptionally clean. The location is great for a pleasant walk along the canal too.
