The ryokan is a traditional Japanese house, so the condition and equipment look a bit old, which is normal, but the price is cheap! It’s also close to the ski resort—about an 8‑minute walk. If you want to save on room costs, it’s a good choice. The owner is friendly and helpful; he helped me buy a two‑day ski pass for the Mushi Plateau at a discount, which was a great deal. There’s a hot spring bath where you can relax your muscles after skiing, which really reduces soreness—great! The heating uses a diesel stove, and there’s always a slight diesel smell when it’s on, which I don’t like.

The owner was really friendly, the location was excellent, and the rooms were comfortable.

What mattered most was the hospitality from the husband and the proprietress; they went out of their way to help with odd situations like a taxi booking failure and a vending machine out of stock, which I really appreciated. There were no complaints.

Everything was great, and there was nothing to complain about.
