Nestled on the edge of Wängle, Hotel Talhof Garni&more offers serene alpine vistas overlooking the Reutte basin and surrounding villages. Surrounded by green meadows, it serves as a launchpad for hiking, nordic walking, and a 30‑minute drive to Neuschwanstein Castle. Nearby, the Ehrenberg Castles light up nightly, the Reutte cable‑car base is a five‑minute walk, and cross‑country trails are within easy reach.

Very friendly staff, breakfast and dinner are very good for the price. No long wait for evening meals. A small downside when showering: the whole floor gets wet; maybe something could be done so that the splash water stays in the shower. Otherwise tiptop.

The location of Talhof is ideal for outings. The gondola ride to Hahnenkamm with a discount through the guest card is very appealing. The breakfast buffet is varied, the dinner in the restaurant – à la carte – very tasty. We were here about 10 years ago with 15 people (family trip) and were very satisfied. Now, as a couple in 09/2026, we were disappointed because many things had changed. Increasing digitisation, limited accessibility to the reception. Late. From 22h the restaurant/bar in the hotel is closed. Too many dogs including a fridge for dog food. No refrigeration for drinks in the room. Catastrophic comfort of the beds, hard mattresses and heavy blankets+pillows. The opening hours of the wellness area are insufficient and inflexible. We will unfortunately not come back!

We thought the hotel was pretty nice, with plenty of space and a great location. We felt comfortable and would book again, though many criticisms in other reviews don’t make sense to us. The breakfast could use more options and clearer signage so guests know what’s what. The bathroom’s glass sliding door left little privacy, and a small fridge in the room would have been welcome.
