The chosen room at Palazzo Gamboni had the expected historical vibe and was simply and nicely furnished. It was very cozy, and from the small balcony you could see the stone‑covered roofs of Comologno. A small electric radiator provided pleasant warmth as the nights have become cooler. The antique room and breakfast room were beautiful, the host was accommodating, and the valley (even in the rain) was striking. We had a great time. The breakfast was good but a bit sparse; in our opinion a buffet would have worked better than the selected slices of bread, cheese, and meat

The old house itself is pretty, and the furnishings are charming. The renovated part, where the “private bathrooms” are, is a real letdown – it looks awful for a historic property. Luckily there were no other guests; the place is so cramped you’d bump into each other. It’s unacceptable that the listing calls it a private bathroom without saying you have to go down two flights of stairs and then climb two more to reach it. That omission feels like a lie and misleads people.
