“Beautiful hotel but beware of the cable car schedule”
The Humboldt Hotel is iconic and historic, fully restored, and its summit location on Avila Mountain offers absolutely amazing views. I booked the room, but that turned out to be a huge problem. Why? The hotel only communicates with guests via WhatsApp, so I never got any notice that the cable car only runs from 5 p.m. on Mondays and Tuesdays. When I arrived at the cable car station at 11 a.m., I was turned away and had to come back later that day. The staff at the station were unhelpful, blamed the lack of communication on the hotel, and showed no concern or care. This was truly disappointing and I almost cancelled the booking.
