“My group is pretty easy going so for us it was an overall good experience”

The front desk was a breeze – I was in and out without any hassle. Unfortunately, the housekeeping left a lot to be desired; the towels were stained and the public areas didn’t feel very clean.

“Good place to short stay”

The spot is unbeatable, right in the middle of everything, and the ground‑floor bar is a nice touch even if it gets a bit noisy at times. On the downside, the bathroom lacked basic mirrors and the cleaning could have been better.

I liked having air‑conditioning and the convenience of an on‑site washer and dryer, but getting up to the rooms meant tackling a lot of stairs, which was tiring.

“You get what you pay but this was too less”

The air‑conditioning worked great, the shower gave solid hot and cold pressure, and the kitchen was usable though the coffee tasted stale and the beds felt a bit grimy. However, one of the two towels was dirty, the Wi‑Fi kept dropping, and there was no staff around to swap linens or help out, even if you paid. To make matters worse, the pub downstairs blasted music on Saturdays so loudly the whole building shook, planes flew overhead every few minutes, and there was no iron or board in the room.

9/10

Out of all the places I've stayed at in Sydney, this one surprised me the most – the AC was powerful, the Wi‑Fi lightning fast, the shower pressure excellent, and there were plenty of good restaurants within walking distance. The owner was friendly and responsive, and the live bands downstairs added a fun, free perk. Still, the place can be noisy, the bathroom sink is tiny, and the bar upstairs brings in some drunk guests, so it's more suited to budget travelers who don’t mind a dorm‑like vibe.
