“A fuir établissement laissé à l’abandon extrêmement cher aucune convivialité”
Nothing good, unfortunately. Vijo Surf is a place to avoid. The value for money is completely unacceptable: €300 a night, on bunk beds, with expensive excursions and meals that are far from meeting the quality promised. The place feels abandoned, a fact confirmed when the owners told us they had opened a new “exclusive” spot and there was nobody else at Vijo—luckily for the others! The accommodation is very Spartan, which isn’t the issue, but it’s poorly maintained (sometimes no water at all, very uncomfortable mattresses, suffocating heat, and ineffective mosquito net). Overall the site appears neglected: a poorly kept garden and a “private beach” that isn’t really private, covered in mud, vegetation, and natural debris. The food is mediocre: small portions, very little variety, dishes sometimes overly salty. The excursions are very pricey and rushed. The owners are friendly, but we quickly felt treated more as a source of revenue than as guests. There was little transparency on pricing and very little effort to satisfy customers. We have rarely experienced such disappointment. The problem isn’t the Spartan comfort, but the exorbitant price given the mediocre services and obviously nonexistent upkeep.
