“Fine hotel but do not trust making a booking through booking.com”
The hotel itself is nice, the room comfortable, and breakfast is good; the bed was comfy and the staff were friendly. The spot is convenient, close to Ho Chi Minh's mausoleum and within walking distance to the Old Quarter. I was really let down that my booking was apparently made through a third party with which the hotel has an agreement and not directly with the hotel, so they couldn’t honor the confirmed reservation. They did manage to accommodate me, but I had to switch rooms during my stay, which isn’t what I expect when booking a hotel, so I wouldn’t book here again because it’s unclear whether you’re booking directly with the hotel or not. Also, the shopping mall across the street blasted loud music all day (not at night) and it was very noticeable in my street‑facing room. The hotel charges for bottled water supplied in the room, which is not normal based on my experience in many other countries.
