“Food excellent. Very comfortable, nice people.”

The location is isolated but very good. I feel it was bought some time ago. The restaurant has been beautifully restored to its original, old-world charm, and the upstairs will be finished later where some improvements are needed. Very nice people, we had two good breakfasts and one good dinner. It needs a little touch-up outside. The restaurant was full, which indicates the food was very good overall. Very nice. I’m sure it will become a top-class venue in time. I think that when some improvements are made to the front and garden areas, it will be excellent.

“great value for money”

Very comfortable bed, spacious ensuite, spotlessly clean, excellent breakfast. The only issue was our bacon at breakfast, which was overcooked.

The staff were very friendly and cosy. The regular clientele were very friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed our visit.

“I would not return there”

Breakfast was good, as was the beer. For that price I would expect an ensuite bathroom, not to have to walk down a corridor to find one. Although clean inside, the exterior of the pub was shabby. The evening meal was a surprise in many respects: several items on the menu were not available, the battered fish was good but should have been served with proper chips, not French fries, and the Eton Mess was more of a meringue nest.

“good for stop over”

Dinner and breakfast are top, room is okay. Great dinner at a good price.
