We enjoyed a great breakfast with freshly made scrambled eggs and some regional items. The free parking behind the building is excellent and the location is central. Our room faced the courtyard/parking lot, making it very quiet. A room on the street would have been noisier because of the cobblestones. The beds were comfortable for one night and the room was a good size. I’m not sure who thinks a milk‑glass sliding door open on both sides in the bathrooms is a good idea – the night light would have illuminated the room and the flush was loud. Unlike the pictures, the shower had a curtain that came close while showering, and there was a slight odor from the drain. We’d have liked an extra pillow, but we couldn’t ask after our late arrival. When booking via the hotel’s website, cancellations can’t be done online, only by phone or email, which is inconvenient; with Booking it would have been simple.

This is really quite a luxurious traditional hotel. Friendly and extremely professional staff, service was generally top. The rooms are accordingly well-appointed. The location in Bad Doberan is excellent, but you are of course away from the coast. This was a bonus for us as it felt more genuine and less touristy than some of the coastal hot-spots. Luxurious locked, indoor bicycle parking facilities. Cyclists are very welcome here. We ate at the hotel in the evening and the food was not great, another guest warned me but we were tired. I mean it was definitely ok to eat and hygienic etc, but you just got the impression the chef was not really in his dream-profession. Breakfast buffet was perfectly acceptable but for evening food I would recommend looking around
