The accommodation was very clean, the staff extremely courteous, and the food excellent. One must keep in mind that the location isn’t very central; you’ll almost certainly need a scooter to reach the city, but renting a scooter is actually sensible, and with one you can easily get to the city, Cloud9, and other spots.

“Lovely hostel! Amazing hosts! Restaurant waiting staff attitude needs improving.”

Sir JJ and Gino were great hosts, offering solid recommendations for island activities and helping with airport transport and motorbike arrangements. Their restaurant served tasty food in a great atmosphere. Nights were quiet, letting me sleep well, and the place was close to the beach, mini‑shops, cafés and within walking distance. On a few occasions, I’d order food or drinks, tell them to drop the items in my room, and when I returned the order hadn’t reached the kitchen at all. Apart from that, everything was more than satisfactory.

“Recommended and quieter stay in siargao”

The room had AC, a balcony and a mini fridge to keep water fresh, plus a good private bathroom. Staff were very friendly and helpful, and I highly recommend it. It’s very close to Ocean9 beach, which is less crowded and better than the more famous Cloud9. The location is 15 minutes by scooter from General Luna – not a bad thing because the neighbourhood is quieter, but you’ll have to drive every time you leave. There was no hot water, but that was manageable. Occasionally there were brief electricity blackouts – three times – and the owner had a generator ready if the cut lasted too long. That’s normal in Siargao.

I strongly recommend this spot! We were looking for something a bit outside GL, and Haole turned out perfect. The host was incredibly kind, gave us great tips in perfect English, and when we briefly ran out of water the host fixed it right away. The room was super clean and amazing, with a shared terrace that had a freezer, water refill, a darts game and plenty of space to hang out. The rest of the staff were also very kind. They run both the hostel and a downstairs restaurant, which is nice too – they even fried eggs we brought ourselves, and for vegetarians the restaurant doesn’t have many options. Five minutes by scooter (bumpy road) is a beautiful beach (Oceans 9) with a beginner‑friendly surf spot (beach break, left wave). You do need a scooter in this area; distances are too far to walk everything. Nothing was lacking – it was perfect!

The room was spacious and the bed comfortable. The bathroom and common area were not clean; you could see items left by previous guests in the fridge and bathroom.
