Located at Civico 50 in Firenze, Hotel Miceli is a family-run hotel within a 5-minute walk of Florence Cathedral and a 10-minute walk from Santa Maria Novella Train Station. Bright, air-conditioned rooms feature simple furnishings and private bathrooms, while nearby streets offer a variety of restaurants, cafés, and pizzerias. The Uffizi Gallery is 1 km away and the Ponte Vecchio bridge is a 15-minute walk.

The spot is superbly central, making it perfect for exploring Florence; Palazzo Medici, the Duomo, and many other major sights are just a few minutes’ walk away, so you can discover the city on foot with ease. The room was immaculate, the bed was very cozy, and the memory‑foam pillows were lovely, guaranteeing a restful night. The staff were exceptionally attentive, welcoming, and always ready to help, which added to the overall enjoyment. On the downside, the lift is tiny, fitting only one person and a single piece of luggage at a time. The bathroom is also cramped, with no room to store toiletries or bags. The curtains don’t block daylight well, so a lot of light floods the room in the early morning, which might bother guests who prefer darkness. The heating system is hard to control: once the desired temperature is reached, it oscillates between hot and cold air instead of staying steady.

The room looked exactly like the pictures on the app, the staff were very friendly, and the hotel offered a TV music lounge, a billiards table, a place to buy food and dine, plus a kitchen. The room had heating, so when we came back from our winter visit we were warm, and the bed was very comfortable. The value for money surpassed our expectations, and I would definitely return.

The location is great, right next to the Accademia Gallery, just a few minutes’ walk to the main square. Getting there from the train station is easy; we took the tram that stops beside the hotel. The room was spacious, and all the staff were friendly.

Everything was clean and extremely organized. Despite loving the room, the cleanliness, and the service, I would not stay here again because it isn’t a traditional hotel: when you arrive at the address you won’t find a classic hotel façade with a front desk. Instead you’ll see a locked door and a keypad next to it where you must enter a password sent by email to get in. The password only works from 2 pm, the check‑in time. If you arrive earlier, you can call a phone number also provided by email, or press the intercom to see if anyone is on site. All of this made me feel insecure because I didn’t find a multilingual receptionist to talk to. But if this automation doesn’t bother you, I truly recommend this hotel.
