“Had a Comfortable Stay. Lovely staff.”
Checking in was smooth and the staff were friendly. The receptionist even walked all the way to our room because we couldn’t find the coffee or tea sachets and kettle, and she called back after we checked out to let us know she’d post our forgotten jacket. We were close enough to return and pick it up. Dinner—roast chicken and tagliatelle—was very nice, and the cocktail was decent. The pub where we ate had a nice ambience. I saw other comments saying it’s an old establishment, but they’ve made the best of it. The corridors are nicely decorated and lit with a few paintings and pictures of the town. Our superior twin room was spacious and clean, with sufficient towels and toiletries. Breakfast offered a number of options that were different from the usual, and the menu we were shown could be customized. The description said there was only street parking, but they actually have a parking area with quite a few slots, so we had no trouble finding a space. We drove an EV, and it was useful that the nearby LIDL/Dunne's parking area had a couple of ESB EV chargers. The beds were comfortable. The walk from the parking lot to the rooms has a few stairs and can be tricky with luggage. The lifts are only available from the reception area, which is a bit away from the rear parking lot. The parking area is a bit difficult to find; the best way to reach it is probably to look for the next door Supervalue parking on the map.
