Having stayed here before, this place remains our favourite in Sri Lanka. The facilities are excellent, but the family who own and run it are truly special. Madara cooked the most amazing food for us—huge home‑cooked breakfasts and an incredible dinner one night. Each day she and her husband Buddhika went above and beyond, bringing fresh fruit from their garden or buying new varieties, and Buddhika offered us driving services at dawn twice, even taking us all the way to Nilaveli for our next hotel. Their son was also very kind and caring. Whenever we wanted to use the pool, they cleaned it thoroughly, and they suggested great restaurants within walking distance for dinner. Worried about our safety, they warned us about the risk of elephants on the return trip and suggested taking a tuk‑tuk home rather than walking back, even though it was very close. They never upsold us, and they even checked prices with another driver before quoting us fair fares. When the power went out briefly, they immediately brought out battery lights for us. We thoroughly enjoyed staying here and greatly appreciate their care and service, which provided us with wonderful experiences. Everything was fantastic!

The owners were great, and you could order a fantastic dinner on request; the owner has a Jeep and will sort everything out. The prices were good, so you don't have to go anywhere else.

The family was very kind and helpful, and the breakfast was delicious. Unfortunately, most of our clothes got stained all over and are no longer wearable. We reached out to the owner about the issue, but they stopped responding to our messages and did not try to find a solution. The room was infested with mosquitoes and flies, and we are really disappointed with the situation and would appreciate it if something could be done.

The hospitality was great, with welcoming people and a fantastic breakfast. Everything went smoothly, and even when we arrived at night, the owner still opened the pool lights and cleaned the water to get rid of insects.
