“OK. No frills and bonus to have hostel to myself!”
The spot was decent, easy to get to, and Matthew was friendly in texts, but when I went to the restaurant to pick up my key, the hostess seemed annoyed, as if I was interrupting her, and there was nobody else around, so I skipped dinner. The hostel itself was fine; the lobby looked tidy and professional, the room was just okay—blinds didn’t work, the key at the door wouldn’t open from outside, so I was glad I didn’t rely on it for security, though the lock worked from inside. The mattress felt damp and uncomfortable, probably because my old bones can’t handle hostels anymore, but at least I had a quiet room to myself. Cleaning was acceptable, though a fresh coat of paint might help.
