“Espero voltar”
The house looked exactly like the pictures, complete with a private little porch that had a swing, a sofa for reading, and a great table for breakfast while listening to birds and the river and taking in the scenery. It also featured a sustainable toilet that we only used if we wanted, which I’d heard of before and had no trouble using. Before we arrived they asked if we wanted dinner, I booked one shared dinner with the other guests, and the meal was delicious, filling and flavorful, plus it gave a chance to meet new people. We also got to use the tank that serves as a pool; on the very hot days I swam there and would recommend it. The whole place shows a deep respect for nature, which is why I fell in love with it, and the owners are very friendly and clearly passionate about this project that is their life. There’s no internet or even a network on site, which for me was a plus because it forced us to unplug and find other distractions or simply enjoy each other’s company. Some units don’t have a kitchen, but that wasn’t an issue since there’s a communal kitchen and bathroom. There’s also an honesty bar open to everyone, running on trust that whatever you take gets recorded and paid for at the end.
