I appreciated that the hotel was close to Baxley, where we were holding our event. However, I stay here every year and this time it felt completely different. The room was filthy: towels from the previous guests were still on the floor, the sheets were dirty and I had to hand them back to the front desk clerk who literally folded them again before giving them to me. The shower was grimy and a soap bar from an earlier guest was left in the room. The headboard’s ledge was absurdly thick. I ended up buying my own cleaning supplies at a Dollar General nearby and scrubbed the room myself. The toilet had fecal residue and hair everywhere. When the cleaning staff arrived on Saturday morning I told them I’d already cleaned the room and only needed the floor swept and mopped; she took the vacuum into the restroom and vacuumed, but didn’t mop, leaving a little hair on the floor. After showing the manager photos, she blamed her employee and said she didn’t like her. It’s clear that management doesn’t inspect the rooms. For almost $230 for the weekend, the overall experience was horrible and definitely not worth it.

The location was convenient for the next morning’s schedule. I booked a double room with two beds, but when the attendant discovered I had a child, he added an extra $25.00 for my kid. That felt ridiculous—what am I supposed to do, leave my kid in the truck to sleep?

The bed was extremely uncomfortable. The bathroom floor hadn’t been cleaned before I arrived—it was disgusting. The hairdryer in the room didn’t work.
