“Bien !”
Breakfast was fine. The room was clean and well arranged. It’s a shame you can’t plug in your car; it was unplugged without notice.

The room was small, but it was perfectly adequate for a city trip.

The experience was terrible; the bathroom is unusable for a shower. The photos don’t match reality.

The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the lobby on the ground floor had comfortable sofas, armchairs, and neat décor. However, the room felt like a university dorm: low ceilings, a cramped bathroom that even a slightly heavier person would find hard to shower in, and a sink that had to be shaped to let the toilet out; as a result, all the water dribbles onto the floor when brushing teeth. The shower seal had black stains, the window in the bathroom was warped, and the overall finish felt cheap, making it tough for guests to use and for staff to clean. Soundproofing between rooms was poor—you could hear everything. I was also given a street‑side room even though I’d specifically asked for a quieter one to rest at night. As soon as I entered, I hit my knee on a bench that wasn’t neatly arranged and was invisible until I found the light switch. The R‑1 toilets were equally ill‑thought out: you can’t get close to the hand‑dryer next to the door because a large trash bin blocks it, which is probably better because you might hit the door that swings inward when someone enters while you’re drying your hands. The price I paid for this room was far from justified. Nowadays, even budget hotels can offer warm, friendly, and distinctive touches. Moreover, any respectable hotel, even a low‑budget one, should provide a welcome tray (kettle, tea, coffee). It’s a minimum for hospitality!

The spot is great, right next to several main train lines and a short walk to the Seine and Marais, but the rooms are tiny, bathrooms even smaller, and you have to pay extra to stash luggage while you’re out. The shared bathrooms on the lobby’s lowest level are awful.
