“una lastima”

The location was good, the facilities are new, and the rooms were comfortable, spacious and clean; the cleaning lady was always very attentive and helped us with everything she could, and the guy who handled our checkout was friendly. However, the reception staff, especially the lady who checked us in, left a lot to be desired—there was clearly no customer‑service training, which is odd for a city like Manizales known for its friendly people. They weren’t punctual delivering rooms; they claimed a room was ready while someone was still cleaning it. They did an inventory and for a unit meant for five guests they provided only two knives, one spoon and two plates, and the same shortage continued with other items. They arrived a day later with more cutlery but still didn’t have enough for the nine of us staying in two apartments. The bedcovers were stained, and they had the audacity to say they would charge us for damage if we pointed it out. We were assigned a parking spot two blocks away, then arbitrarily moved to a farther spot after new guests arrived, ignoring the original assignment we had since arrival and forcing us to remove our car.
