The hotel is nice, centrally located, and offers good parking. The room was comfortable but basic, sufficient for a single night. We dined at the coach house, and the food was good; the pizzas are huge, so we shared one between us. The rooms feel dated and could use a redecorating.

A lovely hotel with a nice room, plenty of hot water, and very central. Breakfast was excellent and the restaurant staff were exceptional. Reception was helpful but not very friendly or accommodating; for example, at checkout we couldn’t buy a coffee because all check‑outs had to be finished first, even though other staff were idle. There were too many rules and regulations.

The location is superb, right in the heart of Pitlochry, and the hotel itself has plenty of character. The room was spacious with comfortable beds. Breakfast needs work – we arrived in the last 30 minutes of service, the dining room was still full, and we sensed a decline in service and cleanliness. In our bathroom the extractor fan was off and water splashed everywhere because there was no shower door. The on‑site parking was constantly full.

The location is fine. The staff didn’t advise us where the hotel restaurant was or ask if we wanted to book meals. The toilets in the adjoining coach house inn were foul; when we arrived on Wednesday 14th, the toilet floor was wet and there were feces on the female toilet seats, while the male toilets had a strong odor.
