The inn is run by a family, the owner is very talkative and friendly, which is great for solo travelers like me; I could ask for help with anything locally. There’s a large free parking lot across the street and a covered parking area, so I never worried about finding a spot. Every morning the owner prepares breakfast by hand, and over my five‑day stay the menu never repeated itself – impressive. I heard the young owner plans to open a metal‑working studio in the inn soon, which I’m looking forward to. Because it’s a renovated old house, the rooms can be a bit damp and have a slight odor, but they provide a dehumidifier; if it’s turned on, the issue is minimal.

The facility itself feels a bit old, but the overwhelming charm of this inn lies in its location and service. I came to Yoshi‑gai Island simply to watch fireworks, with no other plans, and the owner promptly and politely provided information via LINE, allowing me to enjoy Penghu by bicycle alone (the inn offers bikes). I don’t speak Chinese, so we communicated in Japanese; the owner doesn’t speak Japanese either, but the translation app works well and their replies are very fluent in Japanese, which is funny. They also arranged the ferry to Yoshi‑gai Island for me. Penghu itself has many spots for a relaxed stay, and if you want to enjoy Penghu 120 % of the time, this inn is recommended.
