“Disappointed - avoid”

Short taxi trip to the airport. Filthy. The whole place is dirty, outdated, and questionable. GDPR does not exist; my details were written into an A4 notepad, including my passport details and address. The bed sheet was patchy, there was no light bulb in the lamp, the soap dispenser was empty, mouldy and broken. The bed is from the 60s, I sneezed and it squeaked. The room was advertised as garden view, instead I had a window looking at a roof. Two glasses on a tray – one was obviously used. TV remote taped up. No smoke alarms – someone at reception was complaining how the room smells of smoke. The communal area was nice and modern (and unused).

They managed to check us in late at night when the flight was heavily delayed. They quickly confirmed the booking and checked us in and out quickly in the morning. More than 10 minutes from the airport; you can only get there by taxi. The lady at reception does not speak English.

I stayed in a tiny village and it was great to see real Hungarian life; in short, it was super. Nothing there was not enjoyable.

The place was spotless, cozy, and had everything you’d need for a night’s stay. It’s close to the airport, so if you’re catching an early flight or just taking a break in Budapest, I’d definitely recommend it. There’s parking and a little yard in front of each apartment.
