“A terrible experience”

I was disappointed with my stay at this guesthouse. There was no air conditioning, only a fan. We were given a radiator for heating only after we asked the owner about it. The hot water in the shower ran out very quickly, and when we used the electric oven in the shared kitchen, the power tripped several times. On the day we checked out, I accidentally left my suitcase in the room. The owner did not call to let me know. When I spoke to him on the phone about it, he replied, "that's your mistake. I am not supposed to call you." I had to travel back from Plovdiv at night—a two‑hour drive—to collect it. I understand that leaving the suitcase behind was my mistake, but I was shocked by his response and the lack of consideration for a guest. Communication was also difficult: his wife spoke only Bulgarian, so we could not communicate with her, and the guesthouse did not have WhatsApp. Overall, the facilities and the way this situation was handled made for a very disappointing experience.

The bed is comfortable, the kitchen is huge and fully equipped, and there’s a TV in the rooms and from the kitchen. The hosts are kind. Overall we had a great experience with people in Bulgaria. It’s also good that the house is at the very top of the village, at the end, because at the bottom of the village the morning is noisy from the bed. The strong scent of air fresheners in the hallway bothered us a lot, so we kept making a break to let in fresh air, which is why we came to the mountains. The bathroom probably doesn’t have good ventilation because you feel damp from the bathroom when you enter our room. I don’t know how it is in other rooms, so we kept the door and window open to have more pleasant air in the apartment.

The hosts were very courteous and smiling, it was clean and convenient, a wonderful place, I would gladly stay there again.

We left the house feeling totally pleased – it was spotless, snug, and had everything we needed for a relaxed break. The spot is quiet and lovely, and the hosts greeted us with genuine warmth and quick help whenever we asked. Would definitely book again and tell friends about it.
