Staying at Al Massimo Piacere was flawless. The ceilings boast beautiful frescoes and the marble floors are gorgeous. The furniture is comfy and there are plenty of period pieces. I knew it was a third‑floor walk‑up and appreciated the view from there. If you can’t handle three flights of stairs with luggage, skip it. If you’re after modernity, look elsewhere. Built in the 1860s, the apartment is a gem. Cafés line the entrance and shops are just a few steps away.

The location is obviously fantastic—probably the best in all of Palermo. The house is beautifully furnished, with a meticulous restoration that preserves its traditional character. The rooms are simply fabulous; you can feel like you’ve traveled back in time (except for the A/C 😁). They’re spacious, well insulated from the street, and offer plenty of storage. The host is the real highlight; she makes guests feel genuinely welcome, and hearing her—an ex‑art history professor—proudly talk about her place is a delight. A secure parking garage is close and easy to reach. Wi‑Fi is reliable, and you can use the apartment’s kitchen to brew coffee or cook a simple meal.

Built in 1869, this place gives off an amazing family vibe. The common room, kitchen, and air‑con were all awesome. Gabriella was knowledgeable, super welcoming, and fabulous.
