Nias Kristov Surf Camp

The owners of this house are some of the friendliest people I have ever met while traveling. Kristov is a local legend and surfing pro, and his mother is a fantastic cook—her lemon pancakes and breakfast sandwiches are my favorite. I’ve never laughed as hard with two people as I did here. The other guests and I became friends instantly. The house sits right in front of the reef keyhole for paddling out, and the view from the ground floor and balcony gives you a perfect view of the surf. I can’t wait to return.

“Affordable & good vibes. Was meant to stay for a week but staying for 3 weeks.”

We absolutely loved staying here. It’s right in front of the keyhole where you paddle out, and you wake up with the best view of the surf. It’s very affordable, and the family is the sweetest. Mama is the best cook. After a surf session, you can order food and relax in the hammock.

Everything is perfect in its simplicity. Very friendly, very simple, very good. Mama Kristov is fantastic. The reception, food, and kindness were a bit lacking.

Kristov and his mother make the stay special—they’re very kind and helpful hosts who welcome you immediately. Mom’s cooking is a real highlight; every dish was delicious, especially the curry. From the balcony you get a great view of the waves. The rooms are simple but very clean and cozy. Overall, a great place with a lot of heart. The rooms are simple but clean; a mosquito net or air conditioning would have made the stay perfect.

Mama and Kristov are so nice; they’ll help you with everything you need! The location is great, just in front of the surf spot where you can watch the break all day while enjoying excellent dishes that Mama prepares.
