This place has a quirky, historic vibe and plenty of character, but it hasn't been updated in years and could use a serious makeover; it also feels pricey for what it offers.

The breakfast was great and the location is fantastic, and Robin was super lovely; they even added an iron to our room when we asked and the tea/coffee facilities were excellent. However, there was no hot water in the morning, and on Saturday we were at my sister’s wedding at 10am so this could've been better; the bins and towels weren’t replaced even though it was over the weekend, and I think they were short‑staffed; also watch out for the wonky stairs 😂.

The cooked breakfast, though it took 15 mins to arrive, was excellent. The room was a little shabby - even allowing for the great age of the building. A thick layer of dust on the bedside lamp
