Nothing I liked. No TV, no toilet paper, no hot water, etc.

The owner gave me a larger room with a window at a lower price, which was very kind of him. The room is spacious and bright, and the bathroom is nice. However, there were dead insects on the floor, their cocoons hanging on the walls, and three geckos hiding under the curtains.

The hotel was pretty modern and spotless, and the hosts’ kitchen had filtered water for refilling bottles. I was the only foreigner that week and the neighbors were super friendly. There was a plastic flower pot in front of the stage where I sang karaoke; whenever someone liked a singer’s performance, they’d bring a flower and hand it to them. Almost everyone came to give me a flower, which I found adorable. The only downside was that the room had no window and the pipe under the bathroom sink was broken, letting water drip onto the floor. I couldn’t find a scooter rental nearby, and Google said the nearest one was 1h20 away.
