The restaurant staff were very polite and the breakfast was delicious, but the room’s cleanliness was below standard and it wasn’t well sound‑proofed—we could hear all the traffic outside.

I was upgraded to a better room, something I’ve heard about but never seen happen; as an IHG member it’s definitely worth applying for the membership, and there was nothing negative.

I parked safely just outside the hotel where there were plenty of spaces. The room, however, was pitch dark because of scaffolding blocking the window and the TV brightness couldn’t be tweaked. The restaurant felt chilly and plain, with tiny tables that left barely any room for dishes.

The hotel itself looked nice, and the rooms were roomy, comfortable, and kept clean. The restaurant offered a good selection of food. The location was not ideal – it’s not really in Kingston‑upon‑Thames and there were very few nearby amenities. Parking was an extra charge that wasn’t mentioned on the website or in the welcome email, and a £50 deposit seemed excessive for a room costing over £200. The rooms were clean but a bit shabby, and the window in my mum’s room wouldn’t stay shut, making it noisy and drafty.

The room was spacious enough to be comfortable. I couldn’t find a guide on which Wi‑Fi network to use; the password on the TV didn’t match the correct network, and there was no clear instruction on operating the heating. My £50 holding fee hasn’t been refunded, and nobody has told me when it will be. I had to contact staff 4–5 times, which made the stay feel clunky instead of smooth.
