A charming old riverside house with a comfy bed and clear check‑in instructions. The owner was rarely present because she works elsewhere, and the breakfast layout was confusing – I figured out it was a self‑serve cereal and toast, which felt underwhelming for a bed‑and‑breakfast in the foodie‑rich Huon Valley. Dishes were left out on the tables all day; a tub for them would have helped.

The room was lovely, the bed comfortable, and there was a bath. There was no tea or coffee in the room, and the owner/manager was overly insistent that we take care of everything, which felt like a lot for us in our 60s rather than a couple of kids.

The historic property was stunning with a colorful garden; the room faced the river, was very quiet, spacious, and the bed was super comfy with luxurious linens. The location was convenient, with nice cafés nearby and good dinner options.
