“Une belle parenthèse dans un cadre zen et authentique”
The place is only a few hundred meters from the bus stop yet feels fully natural, with authentic surroundings and natural hot springs whose large windows make you feel in a garden. The meals and breakfast were of very high quality, served with meticulous presentation – one of the best experiences in Japan – and the bedding was very comfortable. A small paradise of peace that remains quite reasonable budget‑wise. We strongly recommend choosing the half‑board option!
A simple warning: because this ryokan is in a mountainous setting, you’ll have to push/pull your luggage for 300 m. It’s not long but the slope is steep. Also note that the shower area is at the onsen level (not mixed, of course). For those already used to onsen, nudity isn’t a surprise, but it’s better to keep it in mind since there is no private shower.
