“Significant noise issue in my room”
The grounds and facilities were nice, staff were friendly, most food was good, and the wine education center was excellent for tasting and buying local wines, but this was one of the oddest, least restful stays I've had. I arrived exhausted, and when I tried to nap a loud humming motor noise started in my room, followed by clunking that sounded like a hot tub in the next room. Management claimed it was an HVAC filter, said they'd replace it, then admitted they didn't have one. The first night it stayed quiet until about 1 AM when someone entered the adjoining room and the noise resumed for 1–2 hours, quieter but still disturbing. The second day the noise returned when I rested before dinner and stopped again. After dinner the noise started again and persisted until about 3 AM, leaving me sleepless; earplugs and a pillow over my head didn't help. Thankfully it stopped before my morning departure, but I left very sleep‑deprived. They offered a room change and an upgrade, but since they couldn't solve the issue I was hesitant to move; the noise likely came through ceiling vents from loud air‑conditioning units outside the spa. If not for the positives, I would have given this place a 6/10 and I doubt I'd return knowing I couldn't sleep well.
“We’ll be back!”
The property was spacious, the gardens stunning, the café tasty, and the pool area inviting.
“Amazing, it was our 40th anniversary and it was a great experience.”
The grounds were beautiful, rooms spacious and well appointed, though the buildings could use a touch of updating and you could hear the neighboring room. We told the front desk we were celebrating our 40th anniversary and they upgraded us, which was lovely. I enjoyed the grounds, the room was beautiful, and I liked that the fridge had water and there was a small deck with chairs and a table outside.
“lovely.”
I’ve stayed here before, usually midweek, so this was my first wedding visit; the place was super clean, staff were nice, the grounds were pleasant, and I’d stay again.
“Our stay exceeded my expectations”
The stairs up to the room were steep.
