“Good, confortable room but not in the airport hotel zone.”
Staff communication was good. The room was large, clean, and quiet, with standard French breakfast items in the kitchenette area. I booked this room at the last minute; it wasn’t my cheapest option but it fit my needs—larger room and breakfast. I understood it was serviced by a free airport shuttle, yet the free shuttle bus that serves the hotel zone at CDG airport stops running at 5:30 pm, WTF! I contacted my host, who told me to take a taxi, gave me a number, or to call Uber. As a frequent traveler who dislikes being misled, I asked the helpful staff at the airport transport station if there was a way to take public transport to my B&B. The young man found a public bus for me and gave me the name of the stop closest to my B&B. After 15 minutes of transport through the desolate industrial zone I arrived at my stop. Because this area looked like the last place one would find a B&B, it was now 10 pm, I asked the driver if I was in the right place. Again, the driver was very helpful, he looked up the address on his phone, pointed me the right way, and in 10 minutes walk a residential neighbourhood appeared out of the industrial wasteland, and there I found my B&B. The House was clearly marked, well lit, and the front door was open; self‑checking in, the key was hanging on the wall, all as mentioned in the booking reservation information. The room was clean, quiet, large with a good bed and quality linens. I saw nobody on arrival or on morning departure. I was able to take the free shuttle at 7:30 am; the stop is 50 m away. So, my advice based on my experience: if you arrive “after hours,” in this case 5:30 pm, see above, free hotel shuttle, again WTF, only in France; take a taxi or Uber. If you are hard‑headed, cheap or both, do take the bus as I did but remember you will need to walk in an isolated area to the B&B. There are other hotels that are directly at the airport. There are other hotels with their own shuttle bus. Know what you need.
