“Beautiful boutique hotel hidden in the Cat Ba hills”
A beautiful family‑run boutique hotel in Cat Ba’s hills, surrounded by lovely nature, with fantastic service that handled any request like a proper 5‑star chain. The pool was a highlight—very relaxing, always spacious, and never crowded because of the hotel’s small size. Rooms were cleaned daily to a high standard and came with every imaginable amenity. The only downside was a 3 % foreign‑currency fee on card payments at checkout, which wasn’t mentioned beforehand and would have been better absorbed by the hotel given its upscale feel.
Very pretty, but not well cleaned and very expensive.

I’ve stayed at a lot of great places worldwide, but this one ranks among the best; waking up to that view each morning lifts your spirits. The room was spotless and cozy, and the staff were polite and helpful. I got a massage there, which was again one of the best I’ve experienced. It’s off the beaten track, yet you can rent a scooter for a reasonable rate. I can’t recommend it enough, and it’s a real shame to leave.

YEN Hidden Valley feels like a tiny slice of paradise; the valley views are stunning, especially with the recent flooding that created a beautiful lake, and the location is peaceful and far from town. The staff were wonderful, especially Chip, and we really enjoyed the breakfast and dinners at the restaurant. The rooms are a bit small, but we knew that when we booked, so it wasn’t a surprise. The location is quite remote, taking about 25 minutes by car to reach town and the pier for Lan Ha Bay, but for us the peaceful surroundings were worth it.
