I stayed at a very pretty spot that’s convenient to both Groningen and Appingedam, with a train station nearby; the staff were very friendly and helpful, and the outdoor cafe and restaurant were very nice. The WiFi was not very strong and kept disconnecting.

The place had an authentic vibe and you could also eat there; the breakfast was good but a bit measured, we each had just one egg. It was very noisy, we were in room 1 next to the staircase leading down to the other 15 rooms, and everyone had to pass by; the floor was wooden, so you could hear everything. The room itself fell a bit short, the plaster in the shower came from the ceiling, there was a long-haired rug by the bed, and the sheet looked like a hospital sheet with a blue stripe. In the morning they started vacuuming at 07.45; it felt a bit old-fashioned, honestly, and it didn’t look like the photos.

The hotel was very clean, the breakfast tasty, and the staff extremely friendly. It’s a nice place where you can also have a lovely lunch and dinner, highly recommended, and we enjoyed it! Everything was to our liking; we were allowed to leave our e‑bike inside. There was a small battery station with a toilet seat that was fixed immediately, though we didn’t really need it… nothing else but praise.
