The evening meals blew me away, especially the desserts—chocolate bread and butter pudding were phenomenal, and the afternoon tea scones were the best I've had. The staff and management were all very friendly and even kind to the dogs. The plant‑based cooked breakfast was decent, but the sausages and tofu scramble could have been better, though I’m not really complaining since everything else was excellent. Our room, number 3, was pleasant but a bit small.

Everything—style, setting, vibe, location—was great. Can’t fault it.

The setting by the stream is lovely, and the location is perfect for Malham Cove, Janet’s Fosse, and nearby caves. Even though we didn’t bring a dog, the hotel caters well to dogs, as many others—including repeat customers—did. The old stone bridge to walk over to get to the hotel isn’t suitable for people unsteady on their feet. There isn’t much other space to relax unless you’re in the restaurant or the small snug, which also doubles as a walkway from the rooms to the restaurant.
