The hotel was clean and the host and his family were very welcoming. Breakfast was tasty, especially the tomatoes and cucumbers straight from the garden. The only downside was that the facilities feel a bit dated and the bathroom is cramped because of the slanted roof.

A peaceful spot with a chill host who’s also a good cook. The rooms are clean and roomy, and I even tried the Tiersteinberg MTB trail nearby. I’d definitely recommend it – no complaints at all.

A few hours before I was set to arrive, they offered me dinner, which was a warm welcome even though I’d already had dinner on the road. The room was spacious and fully equipped, and the communal bath was spotless. Dave cooked for me on two of the four evenings at a very reasonable price, and after that I was never hungry again.

The owner convinced me to have dinner with a volunteer, but didn’t say it was an extra charge. When he billed me the next morning I was pretty disappointed – it would have been fine if he’d mentioned it beforehand. On top of that, he didn’t have a key for my room door, which made me feel uneasy.
